Located in Varaždin county, our converted vineyard hut is a place to rest and recuperate.
You like biking and trailing? You are a freelancer looking for getaway where you can work and relax? Or maybe you are just tired of crowded city and want to enjoy in pure simple nature - we got you covered. Our hut is small and simple but it has everything you need to sleep, cook, wash, repair, watch and wifi, can't forget the wifi, right? We invite you to give us a chance and experiece what our region has to offer.

We only have one room which doubles as both living room and bedroom, with sofa bed for 2 persons. Additional bed is not possible as we simple have no room for it...for now:) For entertainment there's a smart TV and stereo but we recommend the view trough the door on Ivanščica mountain.
Everything you need to cook and store is there - gas burner stove, microwave, refrigirator, all the cutlery, plates, bowls, cups, glases for beer, wine, juice, rakija... If you like to grill and BBQ, you'll find classic concrete charcoal grill (or "pečenjara" how we call it) outside in the yard patio.
As in any "klijet", all pluming is always located in ground flor - simply because grape processing (and later on vine storing) was done in "pilnica" - half cellar dug in to the ground to keep the "nectar of gods" cooled. We used what we had, modified and upgraded it to have functional bathroom - simple and rustical but fully functional.

To Varaždin and Ivanec is just a short bike ride away.
Varaždin is one of the first counties in Croatia to create and develop numreous cycling and hiking routes accros the county. Our hut is located in very heart of this cycling network, so you are perfectly situated no matter in which direction you decide to go. Details about all available routes and options can can be found on official Varaždin Bike Routes webiste or even better, via official Android app available for download here. There you'll find info about cultural-historical, natural and eno-gastro POIs that could be interesting to visit and experiece.
When you need a day off from active vacation, we recommend visiting many cultural-historical sights scatered accros the county. We have castles, archeological sites and digs, baroque builidings and cathedrals, graveyards (yes, you are reading it right - the biggest one in Varaždin is even protected as UNESCO World Heritage Site), parks, caves and many other things worth visiting. Combine this with unique local gastro offer and you have a winning combination for perfect continental vacation.
"Welcome to a piece of paradise in Štrigova, where the land is in love with the sky..." A perfect description of Mađerking breg - a place to enjoy in amazing view, local food and excelent wine varieties from local vineyards.
But this is not the only location to visit in our neighboring county Međimurje: you can relax in spa resort Terme Sveti Martin known for its idyllic and healthy natural environment. There are also wine routes, interesting POIs on two rivers (Mura and Drava) and plenty of local folklore to entertain you during your stay. Čakovec, administrative center of the county, has one of the most preserved medieval fortification in Croatia, Zrinski Castle which is located in the Zrinski Park, next to the city's central square.
As any other state capital, Zagreb is center of cultural and social life and thus worth visiting in a day. Or maybe even few days as it's not possible to see and experience everything in only one day. Museums, theaters, street shows, concerts, restaurants and caffes, night clubs and bars - Zagreb is urban center of the Croatia and as such will offer something for for all tastes and flavours.
If you are not in to urban chaos, Zagreb also has another side to explore: historic locations, Jarun lake, botanic garden, Maksimir Zoo and mountain Sljeme which can be visited by foot, by car and even with cable car driving daily from city center.
Experience nature from a bird's eye view - Treetop Walk Pohorje. Located at the heart of the mighty Pohorje forests, at the peak of Roga, 1517 metres above sea level, this location in Slovenia is a place to visit in a day.
